Composition is Half the Battle

In a lot of the how-to's and tutorials on photography, there is a strong emphasis placed on Composition. I know when I first began taking photo's and diving into these sources of knowledge, I was somewhat against how much it was stressed, as I did not think it played such a vital role.

But, I can assure you it does. It will take your photo's from looking like joe shomo's photo to a pro, and all because you took one extra second to twitch your camera one direction or the other.

So, for tip of the day on Composing your photo's like a pro, or more so forcing you with an iron fist and no mercy; we take no prisoners here, I sugest manually selecting your Auto Focus points. If you are using a mid-grade DSLR, an option through your menu can be found to turn your Auto Focus from selecting whatever point it feels like, to a point you designate with what button you want. On other camera's the control's to select your Auto Focus point can be found directly near or adjacent to your shutter button. It normally assumes the pictograph of a square (representing your frame) with many little squares in side it (representing the Auto Focus points).

Once you have done this, select one of 4 points in general. The very top point, the very bottom point, the far left point, or the far right point. Thus you will be forced to compose like a pro! Which isn't a bad thing.
